Academic Project / 2020
  ‘Sports Center for Social Cohesion’

The project spreading across an area of 50,000 sq.ft. is focused on creating a utopian vision of an imagined socio-economically dilapidated world, located in Bellandur, Bangalore. This was done through creating  Live, Work, Learn and Play units intertwined into one space, acting as connectors to help revive broken communities through play and social interaction.

The concept derived for this project was to promote sports as a means of youth development and citizen engagement from all social backgrounds. The idea was to leave the ground open, in order to connect the road to the nearby lake, creating a cycling route. Being semi-open, it also acted as a transitional space that could serve different purposes at different times of the day, from exhibition spaces to small scale events. These connect with a cafeteria and a co-working space, creating a vertical complex of sorts.
